Family Room in Del Mar, California

This family room furniture is how furniture should be built and I’m not just talking about the design or style, but every detail from the selection of the wood to every construction detail.

We hand selected every piece of wood for this project as we always do. This project included front and back bar with stone tops and beveled glass in the upper doors, a TV cabinet for a large screen TV as well as storage, and large bookshelves. The wood is black walnut with crotch walnut panels and hand-carved acanthus leaf corbels. I designed everything including the moulding details that we make and hand carve. The finish is a natural stain catalized conversion varnish that doesn’t yellow and will last longer than laquer will.

The project was for a family I have completed many jobs for in Del Mar along with other locations. It’s always a pleasure working with my clients year after year and this family is no exception.
